Can Creative Thinking be taught

Can Creative Thinking be taught?

This workshop is not designed to teach you something that you already have. Our

objective is to bring out the creativity inside you that has been lying dormant for

years due to lack of use. Like any human muscles, our brain agility also becomes

weak if it doesn’t get enough exercise. Therefore, this workshop is designed with

many exercises to trigger and exercise the mind. We believe that Creative Thinking is

a way of life and we welcome you to make this your new habit. Some of the

interesting activities of this workshop include:

Drawing a dot and a circle on a piece of paper

This simple exercise will indicate to the participants on their risk profile.

Most people will come out with different way of drawing and this give us

an insight on how they think and act.

Who Moved My Cheese?

Complacency, old habit and fear are major culprits that hinder creative thinking.

“Who Moved My Cheese” is a well-known motivational story that will be used to

illustrate how complacency, old habit and fear can stop people from trying new

thing and venturing into new territory.

9 Dots Exercise

Participants will be asked to join 9 dots using 4 straight continuous lines.  This

exercise is mentioned in most creativity books as it is a simple exercise to

demonstrate how people get trapped in their own assumption and paradigm which

prevent them from finding the solution.

Rubik Cube

Thousands of people have tried solving the Rubik cube but in vain. Solving the

Rubik Cube demands the use of both logical and creative thinking skill. Participants

will be taught the thinking process involved in solving the cube. The objective here

is to teach participants how to fish which is the thinking process and not give them

the fish which is the formulae and sequence to turn the cube.

Random Object Brainstorming

Brainstorming is a very common tool used for idea generation. Random object brainstorming

is an improved version of brainstorming. In this exercise, participants will be asked to generate

new ideas based on the attributes and properties of few random objects such as yoyo, toy car

or musical instrument . This proved to be a very powerful tool for idea generation as the mind

will be given new stimulus and taken away from the normal thinking pattern.

And many more interesting games, puzzles & riddles to get your mind working.
